A shocking video captures a dad punching a comedian on stage after an outrageous joke about his son.
The incident has gone viral on social media, igniting a heated debate about the boundaries of comedy.
While some argue that comedians should be free to joke about anything, others sympathize with the father, believing the comedian crossed the line.
One viewer comments: “Two wrongs don’t make it right. Violence isn’t the right way to handle an offensive verbal attack.”
A second says: “Geez, I’m sure [the] comedian didn’t mean it.”
Defending the dad, one person writes: “Way to go dad!!!! Disturbing.”
Another adds: “Bro. I’m all for freedom, and I think comedians should be funny, but what were you thinking making fun of his child like that?”
“I was taught kids were off limits when it came to comedy,” agrees a third. “I agree with [the] dad… [the] comedian went too far.”
The incident occurred at a comedy show where Jaime Caravaca, a well-known comedian in Spain, performed at a Madrid venue.
His monologue was interrupted by aggrieved father Alberto Pugilato after he made a s**ualized joke about his three-month-old son before the event.
The confrontation escalated quickly, with Pugilato delivering a punch that knocked Caravaca.
Audience members captured it on video and rapidly, it spread across social media.
Police were reportedly called to the scene, however, no arrests were made as the comedian chose not to file a complaint against Pugilato, per MailOnline.
