Soccer is such a popular sport around the globe for humans, but one lion in South Africa is trying to make the sport popular in the animal kingdom.
Triton the mighty lion spends his days at the Johannesburg Zoo doing what typical kings do: he eats, lays around, watches the tourists, and he even plays soccer.
He’s no ordinary lion and the way he plays with the soccer is far from ordinary, too!

Zookeeper, Agnes Maluleke, tosses the lion his favorite soccer ball, and he lets out a slight roar right before the fun ensues. Just like house cats with their favorite toy, this big kitty bats and rolls his soccer ball along.

Both lion and the ball don’t stay dry for long, as he rolls it into the water. With a mighty splash, Triton dives after the ball and is able to move it around on top of the water. Even though double dribble isn’t allowed, try telling that to Triton!
