Barbra Streisand, the acclaimed singer and actress, has publicly stated that she would consider leaving the United States if Donald Trump were to be re-elected as President. In a November 2023 interview on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” she expressed her concerns, saying, “I can’t live in this country if he becomes president.” When asked where she might relocate, Streisand mentioned, “Probably to England. I like England.”
This isn’t the first time Streisand has voiced such sentiments. Prior to the 2016 election, she indicated she might move to Australia or Canada if Trump won. Despite her strong feelings, she remained in the U.S. after Trump’s election.
Streisand has been a vocal critic of Trump, describing his presidency as “four years in a black hole” and expressing concerns about his impact on American democracy. She has also praised President Joe Biden, stating, “I love Biden. I love his compassion, his honesty, his integrity, his love of facts, not fiction.”
It’s worth noting that other celebrities, such as Cher, have made similar statements about leaving the country if Trump were re-elected. However, these declarations have often been viewed as expressions of frustration rather than concrete plans.
