Demands Intensify for Adam Schiff’s Arrest Over Alleged ‘Lying Under Oath’ Incident Amid Heated Confirmation Hearing Debate

Calls Mount for Adam Schiff’s Accountability Over Alleged “Lying Under Oath” Claims Amid Heated Confirmation Hearing

Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) is under fire on social media following accusations of “lying under oath” during remarks made at the contentious Senate confirmation hearing for Attorney General nominee Pam Bondi. Schiff sparked backlash after sharing an MSNBC interview in which he criticized Bondi for allegedly refusing to “challenge Donald Trump,” prompting widespread calls for accountability over his purported misrepresentation of facts.

In the interview, Schiff was asked, “This is your first Senate confirmation hearing. What did you learn about this process today?” He responded, “The way it’s devolved, you try to say as little as possible during your confirmation. Be as generic as you can. Don’t give specifics, don’t commit to anything.”

Schiff criticized Bondi, claiming she adhered to this strategy to avoid upsetting former President Donald Trump. “The cardinal rule in her case was: do not say anything to upset Donald Trump,” Schiff stated. He accused Bondi of failing to acknowledge that Trump lost the 2020 election and of disregarding the January 6 investigation to align with the incoming administration’s agenda.

Elaborating further, Schiff remarked, “Using that standard, she couldn’t say who won the 2020 election, couldn’t address claims of massive voter fraud, and couldn’t commit to preserving evidence in the January 6 investigation. She wouldn’t even make commitments that might displease Donald Trump.”

Schiff expressed concern over the Supreme Court’s recent ruling on presidential immunity, suggesting that Bondi’s inability to challenge Trump could have severe consequences. “After this Supreme Court decision essentially granting him immunity from criminal prosecution by the Justice Department, having an attorney general who can’t say no to him or tell him truths like ‘You lost the election, Mr. President,’ is a recipe for disaster,” Schiff warned.

However, conservatives quickly reacted to Schiff’s statements, accusing him of dishonesty. Gunther Eagleman, a conservative commentator, tweeted, “I hope Pam Bondi locks you up first. Lie under oath, go to jail.” Critics cited Schiff’s alleged misrepresentations of the Hunter Biden laptop story during the 2020 election and his role in promoting the debunked Russia collusion narrative as evidence of his lack of credibility.

In 2023, Representative Harriet Hageman sharply criticized Schiff for spreading “lies” and wasting taxpayer money attempting to “delegitimize” the 2016 election. She stated, “While chairing the House Intelligence Committee, Schiff perpetuated falsehoods, often suggesting he had insider knowledge. He misrepresented facts about FISA warrants, the Steele Dossier, and the alleged collusion between President Trump and Russia—claims all proven untrue.”

Concerns about Schiff’s integrity also resurfaced during the confirmation hearing when former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe confronted him about the Hunter Biden laptop controversy. Ratcliffe stated, “In 2020, as chairman of the Intelligence Committee, Schiff mischaracterized Hunter Biden’s laptop as a Russian intelligence operation, with 51 former intelligence officials lending support to that claim. I stood independently and conveyed the truth to the American people.”

Ratcliffe further defended his record, stating, “My history of speaking truth to authority is clear. Should I face similar challenges as CIA director, I will ensure the truth and intelligence prevail, no matter how uncomfortable it may be.”

As calls for accountability against Schiff grow louder, his critics continue to highlight these past controversies, emphasizing the need for transparency and integrity in public office.
